SOLIHULL AREA - Birds and Breakfast, Dawn Chorus Walk.

photograph

Saturday 28TH April 2018

Pardon the pun, but you'll need to be up with the lark for this one!!

The early start is made all worth while, because bird song at this time of year is at it's peak at first light, while all the members of the avian orchestra proclaim their territories.

Broadacre is the location of the walk, a private house dating back to the 18 hundreds, with beautifully landscaped gardens, ponds, woodlands and meadows within it's acreage.

The owners manage the grounds as part home, part market garden, part nature reserve and have plans to make the property even more diverse in terms of wildlife habitat, with proceeds from this event going towards the work.

Broadacre does have a few open days each year and this will be our second dawn chorus here. Last year we recorded 30 species and had a great walk on a lovely Spring morning, so lets see if we can top that total.

We are limiting the numbers on the walk to 15 people to keep noise to a minimum, so enhancing your experience of the bird song. Ashley will help you identify all the birds we hear, giving you tips on how to remember who is who for future reference.

Just 10 Spaces remaining

The price is £18 per person, which includes a hot drink and a bacon butty, or vegetarian alternative.

The event will start at 5.30am, wrapping up after breakfast at around 7.30am. Full location information will be provided by request.

For further details, or to book, please contact Ashley directly on 07704 189835, or by email birdergrove@gmail.com.

If you'd like to take a look at Broadacre, here is a link to their web page.

Sunday 29TH April 2018

Pardon the pun, but you'll need to be up with the lark for this one!!

The early start is made all worth while, because bird song at this time of year is at it's peak at first light, while all the members of the avian orchestra proclaim their territories.

The starting and finishing point for the walk is Becketts Farm Shop, Wythall, B47 6AJ. Although Becketts is very easily accessible, it has countryside all around it, so we should get a wide variety of bird song and activity during our walk.

We are limiting the numbers on the walk to 15 people to keep noise to a minimum, so enhancing your experience of the bird song. Ashley will help you identify all the birds we hear, giving you tips on how to remember who is who for future reference.

Just 9 spaces remaining

The price is £18 per person, which includes a hot drink and a bacon butty, or vegetarian alternative.

The event will start at 5.30am, wrapping up after breakfast at around 7.30am. Full details provided on booking.
